To anyone interested:

My vehicle is in the body shop at GTI and it will be with them for at least 4 weeks. The rental I have is costing me an arm and a leg. Long story short, the third party insurance for the person who hit my vehicle called my vehicle a "total loss"and has already stopped paying for the rental and so now it is on me. Of course, the reason they did it is not to pay for the damages. The amount they offered for a Total Loss was absolutely ridiculous and would not even make a dent in what it is costing me. It would not even pay for the rental.

I believe there are some members who have 2,3, and perhaps even 4 vehicles some of which are   probably not being used all the time. So, what I am proposing, is if you are such a person and could use a few extra $$$ and is willing to let me have use of say an older vehicle, I would be willing to pay for such usage. Unfortunately, I do not have anyone to whom I can turn, so I thought  why not turn to my fellow car club members.

If this sounds reasonable and good to you give me a call. Eric.

Same location 1118 Airport Circle, Euless. Across from Texas Star Golf Course. Different owner, same workers.

They reopened 2 weeks ago.

I guess no loaner/rental, huh?

nice to hear GTI is opened.
The statute in Texas is that loss of use is not owed in the event the vehicle is a total loss.
Are you negotiating with the other carrier out of necessity or desire ? Do you have collision coverage and or rental under your own policy?

I would use priceline for a rental vehicle, and enterprise often has weekend specials for cheap that maybe you could parlay into a longer period.

I appreciate the advice and will take a look at priceline.

As for GTI, they are eagerly looking forward to serve the car club members again and they have a new feature for repairs. They are in the process of getting a website designed where they post daily pictures of your vehicle as the repairs progess and you can see what is being done and has been done. It would be good for people who cannot come in regularly and check up on their vehicles. Just wanted to share that piece of info. with you guys.

ha!   that's going to be interesting!

Anyone who has used GTI knows that work doesn't exactly move along at a swift rate! They do EXCELLENT work but they often take an EXCEPTIONALLY long time to get repairs done.
