Sorry if this news was posted already. I didn't check.

I talked with Dan Butts today at German Technology, Inc. and he told me his body shop is closing its doors at the end of the month. The reason isn't a result of business-loss but beause he is moving on to pursue a hobby that has turned into a lucrative new business opportunity. So, great news for Dan. Bad news for those of us who prefer his shop to all others.

Can we ask what that hobby was?

I don't know the specifics, but it has to do with windmill energy. He and another guy have been working on a windmill project that has apparently blossomed into some sort of contract deal with a big company. Sounds exciting.

Was that you in there during lunch?  I dropped in my car during lunch.  Sad news.  Somebody should pony up and buy the business over.  The GTi reputation alone is worth the price of admission.

I had some small things done to my car there...Dan seemed to be very hands on with everything in his shop so if Dan goes the rep goes with him as far as I'm concerned.  It wasn't even a lucrative insurance job and I watched/talked with Dan while he personally put my front bumper on the car to make sure it was aligned right.

The second time I was in there was when Will's car was there.  After I saw Will's freshly painted car I couldn't help but ask how much $$$ for a respray on mine would be...wrong time to ask

I was there yesterday morning. I backed into a handrail in the office garage and put a nice dent in my trunk lid.
