No, I don't mean dress up in women's clothes and run an eigth mile. Dirty minds!! Northstar Dragway in Denton has a Test 'n' Tune every Wednesday starting at 7pm. Only ten bucks, you can't even get a decent pizza for that... I said decent pizza.

Dying to see how much faster a 3.73LSD vs. a 2.79 open diff makes. Tonight I'll be there in a Hennarot (orange) 325e complete with custom primer splotch on the hood, my cell number is 310-753-5888. I will have limted internet access the rest of the day. Below is a formula for calculating wheel hp from your drag time and mph that was printed in this month's Road & Track in case you missed it.

HP = (mph/234)cubed x vehicle weight

It seems to be pretty accurate. When applied to my last times I got 98 whp, which jives with my rated flywheel hp of 121. Jeez, can't believe I posted that. Hope to see you there.

If this gets planned ahead, I would go.

I agree with Doug...a little planning ahead and this might be fun to get some of the club to go up there. It is an 1/8 mile track so a little easier on the car.

I did experience the Northstar magic last night before Blizzard '08 hit. With only 30 or so vehicles you could really go nuts - run after run with no waiting. Of course I was one of the slowest with a best ET of 10.5 seconds @ 65mph. I did beat a few tow vehicles, but all the million hosspower CamaroNovettes smoked me like Cheech and Chong would after a month of rehab.

Overall a good deal for $15 (ten to watch, 5 more to race). The track is well maintained, the peeps are friendly, and they do broadcast on an FM station so you can hear the announcer. BTW, the hp formula I mentioned above applies onlyto 1/4 mile tracks. Perhaps we can get a party together in a few weeks. Make plans at the 16 March autox?

I was referring to the SCCA autox this Sunday at Pennington that I plan to attend. But I will also be at the Bav Grill this Thursday and we can talk drag then.

It's prolly too late for this week, but I was thinking of getting some of the Lone Star faithful together for next Wednesday's drag racing at Northstar in Denton.

Remember it's a great way to verify those killer mods. I myself am looking forward to legitimatize my chip's benefits, and I ain't talkin' chocolate chips. The theoretical 20% hp addition seems lovely on the street, but I need numbers.

Anyone down?

Driving to Denton for 1/8th mile drag racing - I've run there enough to not want to go back... If it wasn't such a haul I'd still go, but its a beating from the Allen/McKinney area. Hwy 121 route to Denton is a joke, Hwy 380 is worse.

Wish there was a 1/4 mile track closer than Ennis, too. Such a whippin to get all the way down there in traffic. Used to go all the time to HRP when we lived in Houston, but ever since we moved to Dallas we've only been to the 'strip a few times. I do miss going to the dragstrip, a little.
