We've been kicking around an idea.  I thought I'd ask for some opinions here.  High end shocks are definitely a large investment.  So what if we could offer a strut/shock package that was modular?  What if you could buy singles and upgrade them to triples down the road?  Or buy doubles and make them triples.

For instance, you have a project car.  You want nice shocks, but you can't afford triples.  Most likely you buy something inexpensive until you can afford something more right?  The car progresses from storage facility, to garage art, to running, to autocrossing, to track days, to road racing.  Then it gets into road racing and you progress into more and more prepared classes.  So what if your shocks could grow with you?

General idea is we take the pieces of the triple and take off the remote reservoir leaving you with a single adjustable coil over.  Certainly this isn't a Koni insert.  It would most likely be around $2,000 for the set.  Want to upgrade to internal doubles since your class won't allow reservoirs?  No problem, we swap out a few parts and you're on the road again.  Want to then go to triples?  No problem.  We can do the swap one more time.  Some fees apply of course, but it saves you from buying multiple sets of shocks and laying out $4-7,000 for 3 way competition shocks at the beginning of your project.

I guess the question is, would you buy what would be perceived as expensive single adjustable shocks to do this?   Thoughts?

Yeah, that sounds pretty interesting...

Throw in some E30 M3 tranny mounts and you've got a deal.
