| I am looking for one to mainly use to keep tires inflated properly (darn TPMS!), but I would like portability, and other household uses in mind. Anyone have a specific brand they like? or a brand to stay away from? Looking at availible compressors on Amazon, most of the portable ones (12v and 120v) had plastic tire filling nozzles(not sure of the official term for it). Would that be an issue, or are the metal filling nozzles overkill? Thanks!

| Air compressor has large connotations. Do you want need it to be portable and what household uses do you need it for? The is a big difference between even the smallest AC 120v and the portable DC 12v models. If you want a portable then absolutely, get this one: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=3992 I love mine. I have had it bout 4 years. I use it every week for something. It has a 12v power outlet you can use to run portable devices. Surprisingly, I haven't needed to replace internal battery yet but I'm sure it is a SLA and easily replaceable. If the until dies today I'd buy another one tomorrow. I use it for: tire inflation
power 12v fan in my camper
power 12v Ipod Rf transmitter for tunes on the garage jam box
power 12v air mattress inflator
inflating sports balls
inflating rafts
power a 12v power inverter to extend the battery of my laptop when watching movies Knocks are:
it is slow to inflate tires but still as fast or faster than most portables
you must remember to charge it, I dont think it will run off you car battery It's pretty durable. I take it to all driving events and camping trips and it gets borrowed a lot. It survived the sand storm at MSR PCA DE on Feb 24. It had so much sand in it that it wouldn't run but after I knocked all of the sand out it has been running fine since.

| Hmm, that one looks good! the ones I saw where either 12v only or 120v only powered...this one has both! Ill have to go check wally world this weekend.

| It is powered by an internal battery. The AC adapter is to charge the internal battery. You cant run the compressor with AC. The DC adapter lets you charge it from your car. I've never used it. If the internal battery is dead, I don't know if you can use the DC adapter to run the inflator with your car battery.
