OK, for those still waiting to see pics of the AST coilovers. I shot some the other night. We'll have more formal announcements shortly. A couple of key components I'll mention:
- 1 way adjustable (rebound only, 12 adjustments) - Monotube, nitrogen charged design with floating piston - Housings are built from scratch (not inserts) - Adjustable height sway bar end link (no need for adjustable end links) - Kit includes struts, shocks, 4 60mm springs (your choice on rates) and rear shock mounts
Kit includes adjustment tools
Close up of exclusive Vorshlag adjustment knob
Our version of a "Body Shot"
Spherical Rear Shock mounts
These are loaded in our cart. There are a few sets of closeout kits that we purchased from AST that are very attractively priced in our "Clearance" section. They don't come with custom rates, but they are a great kit "as is" especially at the prices listed.

| I like well made machinery and components. This stuff looks too good to get dirty.

Thanks to Vorshlag, we got three test sets for the MINI for customers of ours... We're looking forward to installs over the next couple weeks for testing... Oh, and eventually, modding sets for custom applications!
I'd rather be autocrossing...

I'm certainly a believer in eating our own dog food. We installed the 4100 shocks on the silver M3 this weekend and all I can say so far is "WOW". I'm not one to over sell, but G class better watch out! It probably helps that the Konis on the silver car were due for a rebuild too. One thing that everyone should know though is the difference that monotubes make over twin tubes. The bigger piston on the monotube allows more control. I was driving the car on one of our "test loops" and it was apparent with one simple move, transitions. I was doing slalom motions and then shortened one of the turns and the car turned in like it has never turned in before. Pretty impressive. Come by and check them out at the next event. On top of that, around town driving is actually better now too! Brian

| We ran into a minor snag during out install on Saturday, thanks to MINIs decision to go with different rear trailing arms on the GP and R56 models. Oh well, we found the insert we needed to get the job done and will complete the install on a GP on Friday afternoon... Soon, we'll be manufacturing our own inserts for that trick rear control arm. In a nutshell, MINI went to aluminum rear trailing arms - to help with clearance and stress, they machined these wonky inserts for the OEM shocks. They new trailing arms are uber-light, but I cannot imagine how much a replacement would cost - the casting is INSANE! We'll have three sets installed by next weekend - two of which are going to the Dragon (near Deals Gap, NC) for testing the first weekend in May. Nothing like 300+ turns in 11-12 miles to test a suspension on the street.
I'd rather be autocrossing...
