I'm planning on coverting my 325i to a manual so I need some dealer only nuts and bolts. So I go to classic today to order about 25 assorted self locking nuts and the totall was about $60! I understand dealers jack up prices but this is insane. The bill was about $90 at first but I decided I didn't need a gasket. I asked the parts guy if my I could apply my cca discount so he said "sure". I guess he applied the discount to the first bill, but didn't for the second b/c he was annoyed I changed my order. Anyways is this the amount I should expect to pay?

Absolutely ridiculous... It's too bad Elliot's hardware has disappeared; that was about the only place you could find specialty bolts and hardware that were near these special manufacturer's parts. That's nearly $2.50 per screw, which is crazy.
I would check online next time with dealers like Pacific BMW or Bavarian Auto. Or, check your local Home Depot or Lowes for a similar bolt/screw.

| www.pelicanparts.com Pretty fast service, searchable by part number and you can get just about any OEM part at a discount.

BMW of Dallas is always less than half of what Classic charges for this type of part. There's still an Elliot's in Plano (at Coit and Park).

Maybe I can save you all some trouble, At work we buy stuff from a mobile distributor, he has all the metric nuts, bolts, wire looms, all those popin fasteners and about anything else including replacement relays right on his truck and if he dont carry it he can usually get it the same day and deliver it. Just tell him William at Angelica Textiles in Dallas recommended him. BTW he is a BMW racing and fan so you might be able to talk him into some discount.

| This is a great vendor topic and might have been placed there instead of LSC General. Maybe next time.

| Where is the love part? I've never had a love relationship with any of these dealers. They all act pissed off that some non-in-house-mechanic is here ordering parts for his old (read not brand new) *** ride. Thank you for the hookup William. Trent
