Hi,
I have a 95 M3 that has no keyless entry or alarm installed. Everyone keeps telling me there is a BMW part that I can buy that will plug right in to give me keyless entry. I really didn't want an alarm, just the keyless entry. All I can find are two bmw part numbers: 82111469444 which is an alarm, and :82111468755 which is also and alarm. Does anyone know the part number of the keyless entry module? Is it still available from the dealer?
Thanks,
Brian

| Assuming the 95 is prewired then yes there is a factory and an aftermarket plug in option. I know CircleBMW used to have a good price on the factory setup but lots of places sell the alarms. I bought an aftermarket by Stellar/Autoloc and I've had LOTS of trouble. Personally I would consider having an alarm installed. I think it might be cheaper and the installer will be responsible for its proper operation.

I don't know anything about the factory keyless entry. But if all you want if keyless entry then the Stallar will probably work. All my problems were related to falsing of the alarm unit.

| Brian, Keyless entry = Alarm system on your car. There is not two seperate systems only one that does all, at least as far as BMW is concerned. Fairly easy install and is plug and play(with a bit of wiring). BMW OE system is pricey but still available. Haven't been impressed by any other systems, in fact we have removed a couple of these aftermarket systems because of hack installs and malfunctioning units causing strange anomolies. Never had to remove an OE system.

| I am assuming the OEM system has a key fob with buttons on it. Is it fairly small? It would be sweet if there was a way to get the newer integrated key with buttons to work for older non keyless cars.

| Ok, so here is one with a fake audi style key that sort of acomplishes getting rid of the key fob. However, it has a footnote that states the key will not start the car due to not having a transponder in it. Didn't know the key had such things in it.
