So, if one were to say, begin building a Spec e36 Club Racer, would you advise beginning with a 325 or a 328? I was leaning towards a 325, particularly a pre-Vanos OBDI M50B25 for the sake of cost and simplicity. (Also, you're allowed to shave off an add'l 70 lbs. over a 328.) However, the M52B28, while only having 1 more HP, has approximately 30 more ft/lbs.
Discuss.

I'm interested in this myself, If I had to guess the torque advantage of the 2.8 would be worth it. I've been looking for stock dynos to compare.
