Hi,

I am coming up on my first scheduled oil change as per the free maintenance program and just got a dummy light coming on that one of my exterior lights has failed. Checked all the lights BUT the brake lights and they all work. I want this checked before the oil service comes up.

I bought the car from Classic BMW in Plano and wanted to see if any of the members prefer a specific service adviser there. Is there potentially one that generally handles the BMW CCA folks?

Any recommendations are appreciated.

Chris, I asked the question over on the Texas chat thread on M3Post. Many of the people there use Classic for service. If you're not familiar with it, you might want to check out E90Post. It looks like a very active site. There's also a Texas chat thread in the regional forum that looks pretty active. I should get a name or two in the next couple of days.

Chuong Nguyen is recommended by several people at M3Post as a very good service adviser at Classic.

Thanks for the info, Cal. I have an appointment set up for Monday with Greg, whom I was referred to at Bimmerfest. I'll see how it goes and will keep Chuong on mind as well. Thanks again!

I hope you are enjoying the new M3. It looks stunning...

Good, glad you got a reco. The new car is very nice. It's a much better daily driver than the E46, but has stronger performance. I've taken it on a drive with DFW AC and the one Mark did to Whitewright last weekend. We're planning to go on the repeat of the drive that you and Mark did last fall next weekend providing the weather is decent.

The drive with Marc last year was great, I'd love to do it again. I am sure you guys will have an enjoyable time.

I have a 12 day old newborn baby girl at home and will not be able to join activities for a while...maybe in the summer/fall.

Congratulations, Chris. It's been almost 30 years since I was in your position. It's both wonderful and initially scary. Take care.

Thanks for the well-wishes, Cal, we are getting past the "scary" stage.

I used Greg Borchers this morning as my SA and he did a good job. Car was in and out quickly and since I work so close to Classic, no loaner was necessary and I appreciated the courtesy shuttle in a nice, new X5.

I'll use Greg again for the first free maintenance service in a month or two to see how things go.

Tom Bull at Classic is very good, they are tight with loaners though, I think Sewell SAAB spoiled me , always had nice loaners(low mile CTS or 9-3), even at very short notice.
