The early E28 flywheels are not the same as any current model of BMW. What are you looking for........a dual mass, single mass, auto, standard......I have a couple of older flywheels in my inventory(a couple of new ones) but I need more information.

| The M20 powered e28 528e uses the crap dual mass Eta flywheel ...you most definitely do NOT want that . The E21 323i actually has the lightest OE flywheel for any M20 ...its about 13lbs or so ..I've ran one before and still have a loose one ....but sorry I'm still holding onto it for the time being . It would be easier and more cost effective to just source any regular M20 "i" flywheel from any 325i or 325is car just have it lightened ...most local machine shops can do it for around $40 or less .

| Thanks for the comments. I was never considering using my 200lb eta flywheel with my i motor. But today I did pay $fitty to lighten my i flywheel. H and M Tool and Die in Rockwall machined material off the back of the flywheel so that it is now flush with the ring gear. I can post/send pics if anyone wants them. Bathroom scale says it weighs 15lbs. I didn't want to go nuts and spend multi Ben Franks to get an 8 lb FW that would kill torque. I have both the i and e gearboxes at my disposal, but I plan to use my 'known good' e box. They are both Getrag 260 units using identical clutch covers, release forks and bearings (as per www.realoem.com). The only difference appears to be the clutch disks which have different part numbers. Both are 228mm in diameter, but the eta disk has center bushings while the i disk has springs. Since my eta clutch only has ~7k miles on it I think I can go ahead and use it.
