Okay, looks like I pulled a threaded stud that holds down one side of a coil.  This is not disastrous because it does not hold much pressure but I would likt to fix it. Since there is one on each side and it does not old much pressure the fix does not have to be complicated.  Also, I have to use the same threaded stud since I have to maintian the same diameter given what it holds down.  Is there something like "JB Weld" or other, or do I really have to have this heaili-arched ??  Suggestions?

As long as you didn't damage the threads in the head, there should be no reason to use a heli-coil to repair it. You should be able to just clean it out and use some high temp Loctite on the stud. Use 2 nuts to tighten the stud back into the head.

Sorry, didn't read the thread title. Typically, I like to heli-coil any stripped or questionable threads in aluminium, however these are very small and have almost no load on them. Quick and dirty repair would be to go to a bolt the next size up and just tap the larger hole. (this should still be a narrower hole then if you drilled/tapped/heli-coiled).

Any recommendations on where to get heli-coil inserts in North Dallas?  For this application of course (assuming metric threads).

Elliot's has quite a few. (Plano) I'd call ahead to make sure that they have the right size, though.
