Wow, 31 participants so far...looks like we're headed for the lightest turn out I've seen in a while. Nice to see a 128i and a classic Jaguar sign up! Look forward to seeing everyone out there. Looks like it might be a short day at the airfield! Are we getting complimentary Pizza again?

| For those that missed out Here is a quick overview of what you missed: 2/3rd's of a figure 8: Slightly decreasing radius if you ask me. The infamous Mufflelafflhead 14 cone slalom.....decreasing, increasing decreasing increasing.....you think you get into a rhythm then you then you get messed up - I spun once there ....better than someone else I knew that made me run for 5 cones when I worked that corner in the morning A chicane at the bump.....nicely done - IHMO...but then I have all the suspension travel of a stock suspension A U-turn at the end of the far end of the runway....you ccouldn't see the corner workers at work station 5 because of the curvature of the earth.....radio reception was even accompanied by static. A 2nd chicane at the bump on the way back. This was was a toss up between slowing the car a little and getting it right, or keeping the throttle pegged and as the rear wheels get airborn you'd most probably tap the 3rd gate in the chicane as the car lands. This lead into a long straight...85ish mph on my 184hp torque monster - I wonder what speeds the Vettes and higher hp cars got to see. What speeds up must slow down - the long straight was followed by the heaviest braking zone.....with breaking asphalt if you choose the most used line. The home stretech was a great 2nd gear rhythm section - that I really enjoyed. I personally have to say this was a nicely put together course......Best part of all.....free pizza

Another fun event! The course was definitely fast and fun. My stock brake pads were not a big fan of the long straights though. The long slalom was a bit much, I wish it was broken up a little more with some offsets in the center or just taking about 5 cones out and spacing them out for a faster slalom. My arms were a little sore on Sunday from all the steering so I can't imagine what Joe was feeling b/c of that manual steering rack on the Elise. I was looking through the video and I think the car had a 106 in it, but I can't complain about the results. See ya next month at TMS and I'll try to post some video soon.

Pretty good event overall, it was a great idea to hold it earlier in the year (I think) as working that course when it's 105 outside was a major bummer last year. I have a dime size piece of skin on my left thumb missing thanks to the slalom of eternity (even wearing gloves) but at least my arms aren't all sore like some weenies with a power steering rack I also had a great time cleaning the dirt out of my back wheel yesterday and lastly my rear tires went from 2/32nd's to 0/32nd's in 4 afternoon runs, good times. Looking at the video I hit about 95 mph on the back straight and that's braking at the bump on the way back to keep the car in 1 piece.Nice driving to Thomas though, I think +11 in one run is a new LSCBMWCCA record?

Sorry we couldn't make it. Last week was plain nutty for us. Ronnie from AST was here so we were doing some advanced training. We got our shock dyno up and dyno'd some E36 struts, did some revalving and testing on it. Gotta make more brackets for other models. Then we went to MSR all day Friday and drove to TWS Saturday to get our NASA Time Trial (TT) licenses. That was our only chance to get checked out before heading to the Grassroots Ultimate Track Car Challenge in California. Maybe we'll make it to TMS? The straight sounded like fun.

Mmmmm, love that smell of cooking brakes... Lots of smokin' brakes when people coming back through to stage again.
I thought is was another fast, fun Grayson course with the "world's longest slalom" (13 cones that covered probably 1/4 mile). As far as the even-then-decreasing-then-increasing slalom goes, I thought it was fun as heck - on my 3rd run, I finally nailed the rhythm and knew exactly where to slow down and then where to pin the throttle again.I saw 85ish mph on the return straight before pinning the brake pedal to the floor and praying (out loud) that I would slow down enough for the double-chicane before the right-hand sweeper that led into the finish sequence... A couple of times it was pretty hairy and I didn't think I was going to make it - in fact, on my last run of the day I didn't quite get it right and it cost me in the last section. The pavement out there is definitely getting worse - especially that bump. P.S. I didn't design the course - Pops did with input from Dubya. It's a repeat of some of the elements of the course I did last year, but you can blame them... Again, anyone, ANYONE that wants to design courses is MORE than welcome to do so. P.P.S. Honda generators FTW!
I'd rather be autocrossing...
