| Woo Hoo!! In your face cars that won't pass!! My Carbon Mononitrides of Hydrocortizone ppm was 157. The limit - 157!! How's that for Crackerjack accuracy! Replacing that 11 year old cap/rotor paid off like a honky mo! This will be the last time my 24.5 year old car will need to pass as far as TX is concerned. Now I just need to find a creative use for that catalyst. Time for another well-deserved ol' Buddy Light....

| I forgot to mention that I found a spray paint color pretty close to Hennarot - Chevy engine paint #DE1607. Not a solution that's going to get the ladies attention, but definitely a cheeep solution. Back in the day I knew a 'chap' who spray painted most of his Triumph Spitfire in his spare bedroom. He took off the body panels that were removeable (everything but the rear fenders basically) and duct taped the a/c vents in that room. Over the next few months he methodically sprayed/sanded/sprayed until satisfied. When all said and done he had a truly impressive 20+ coat finish on most of the car. The rear fenders he sprayed in his garage and didn't turn out quit as good. Very cool to witness his determination though. Sorry for the ramble. All that matters is that the heat can't squeeze me for no inspection. Eat my shorts, coppers!

Congrats! Changing the oil right in the days before the test makes a big difference, and is a good tip for cars that fail.
The other thing to do is to make sure the car is good and HOT, driven for approximately 25-30 minutes before the test.
I definitely know how you feel about getting an old car to pass.... My 93 Accord daily driver (206K) has had it's share of passes and fails, and my E30 M3 as well.
