I have a 1997 328i. One morning I was driving the car like normal and stopped somewhere for about half an hour and when I got back in the car and turned it on the tachometer and the MPG gauge was moving about erratically, not consistent at all with what the actual engine speed at the time was. What could this possibly be, something in the dash or under the hood maybe? I know its not reading correctly because I don't think my engine can rev to the other side of the needle stop!!!

| I had this on one of my 325 and it turn out to be an o2 sensor. No fault code just the MPG needle moving, even at steady throttle.
