Howdy LSC members...

If you are a LSC autocrosser you've probably heard about them folks over at the SCCA. I try not to pollute the LSC forum with to much SCCA stuff but they are having a National Tour event in our own backyard in a couple of weeks and they asked me to post about it on some local car club forums... they are inviting all local autocrossers that are members of other car clubs out to this event without the need for an SCCA membership, per their normal rules.

big entry field from all over the USA = more competition!

A National Tour is run by the National SCCA folks and they drag all of their equipment and people to each Tour date and run it like the SCCA National Championships (in fact, running a Divisional or Tour event is required before you can run at the annual National Championships). Ever wondered how you'd fare against the top guns in the SCCA, from across the USA? This is the closest you will get to going to the country's only autocrossing National Championship - right here at Texas Motor Speedway!

They cater at least 2 free meals + "adult beverages" and its a great excuse to party on Friday and Saturday nights on the Tour Weekend

The familiar TMS Bus Lot will be where this event goes down, and it is being capped at 300 entrants - so you can expect it to be bigger than any autocross we would otherwise see here in DFW. Yes, its an $80 entry fee, but its a 3 day event with lots of free food, drinks, shirt, and 2 days or racing (and remember: Oktoberfest's 1 day of autocrossing was $100). The TMS Bus Lot should be familiar to all of you and the facilities are great - and its not Miserable Wells.  We are trying to support the local DFW area Divisionals and Tours so we can continue to get one each year.

Here's a bonus: anyone that can prove they are "members of an independent club" can waive the need for the SCCA membership requirement, which is $80/year or $15/weekend:

Nationals Office writes:
I have some good news for you.  Howard said that for your event, he would be willing to waive the $15 membership fee for folks that can show they are members of an independent club.  They would still need to fill out the form at the event and entries would either have to be done on site or faxed in to Nancy.  They cannot be done online.

Hope this helps.

Cindy

The best part: tons of free contengency stickers! If you are interested in running at the Tour, the Texas Region SCCA is hosting a Tour warm-up event at the same TMS Bus Lot site on April 27th, as well.

See you all Tuesday at the LSC-BMWCCA monthly meeting (TOMORROW!) at BMW of Dallas.

Fair! (4/14/2008)

Mineral Wells is *awesome*, but can you imagine what it would be like if they sealed the surface???

I would be on this one in a hearbeat, except I'm going to be in Arkansas for one of my wife's relatives graduating from college.

BTW, had a great time at the SSS last Saturday; I've got a couple of prospects for the fall school already!

Have a good one,

Mike
