| Tire Rack has ASA AR1 rims on clearance for various discounts. The cheapest is ASA AR1 17x9 et+45 22lb 5x120 hub centric Black with machined lip for $119. Black is not for every car. The other colors are a bit more. Not particularly light, about 2lbs lighter than stock 17x8.5 @ 24lbs.

| On my E36 with rolled fenders, I put 255/40 on them all around. I used a 10mm spacer in the front but 7mm might be enough. I still testing with no spacer in the back but I think a 3mm or 5mm would be better. If you can get by with no spacer in the back the you wouldn't need rolled fenders but with a 5mm you might want rolled. With a 245 width no rolling and no spacer in the rear and probably a 3mm to 5mm in the front.

| The Kosei K1 in 17 x 8.5 is discounted to $165 apiece and only weighs 16.8 lbs that has to be the best deal out there at weight vs cost.

Ugh, they are dumping ASA... Well, I can't much blame them, as everything they make is heavy as all hell. I guess for a street wheel it'd be OK but I wouldn't be caught dead competing on a wheel that heavy. I have similar 18x9 ASA wheels with the same +45 offset and run them as my "street anchors" on an E36. Run a 10mm spacer in front, no rear spacer, using a 255/35/18 (similar in width/diameter to the 255/40/17 you would use on a 17x9). I also run them with a 5mm on the rear sometimes - since the rear lips are already rolled, it fits either way. Koseis are also on closeout (have been for a while) and cheap. At 8.5" its no wider than an M3 wheel, but at least its fairly light. Be careful when using a Kosei K1 with any 10mm spacer - there's a big possibility that the wheel's inner hub chamfer (undersized compared to most other BMW wheels) won't clear the oversized hub chamfer on a 10mm spacer. Most folks only recommend using Koseis with a 12-15mm hubcentric spacer on the E36 front application, which due to additional internal clearance does not need an oversized outer hub chamfer.
If you want a light and 17x9... well, you guys know who to call.
