wow excellent topic and info. I thought we only had john roberts and classic as dealers here in Dallas! BTW I got a nearly 19% discount on a piece I bought yesterday - with an expired card. List was 179 - 34 = 145 + tax... not too bad!

[quote]m5rider (7/11/2006) Where is the love part? I've never had a love relationship with any of these dealers. They all act pissed off that some non-in-house-mechanic is here ordering parts for his old (read not brand new) *** ride.
Thank you for the hookup William.

there are some e30 parts that are dealer exclusive that I don't mind paying for. Also thanks for the info Will.

| Yes, Classic is ridiculous. I paid $6.00 for one of those little "M" emblems that goes on the wheel. Elliott's Hardware is a great place and they still have the location at Coit and Park in Plano.

I was over at Classics new digs on Thursday. Nice! However the guy over in parts seemed to be bitter about his job. Horrible service. Oh and he mentioned that all parts have under gone a 3% increase. Let me guess, to help pay the mortgage on that new facility.
Service also quoted me $128 just to look at the car in their bay. (Im trying to diagnose a front end rattle)

Neil (7/10/2006) Or, check your local Home Depot or Lowes for a similar bolt/screw.This should go w/o saying but I feel like typing. Be aware that the quality of the fasteners at either of these places is the lowest possible. There are no standards that they are required to meet. And they don't. Buyer beware.

| Classic's parts prices are terrible. The only reason I go there is because I need something in a hurry and they are on my way to work. I buy all my other BMW parts from Rich Dorffer. He's a sponsor and quite active on the E30 yahoo group. Excellent, excellent pricing. http://www.rdautosport.com/ You might get some groans when returning your parts, but shouldn't be a problem if they weren't special order. --Shaun
