I've gotten a couple of flyers in the mail from them, and living in Denton, they're much closer than Plano or Ft Worth (for Nerces or Trent). Anyone have an opinion on them? Really needing to get my tranny flushed soon.

I've seen Krause post a few messages here, back in Spring of 2006. Are they still a club sponsor and/or do they give a club discount, as the others do?

Thanks,

Neil

Sorry, I haven't heard of them. Hopefully somebody else has though.

I live in Lewisville but I do all of my own work.

I have seen the shop from the exterior, and based on that, their web page, and proximity to you, as well as the fact that Robert is a club sponsor, ... give them a shot.

Krause is a member of BIMRS.org , a seasoned BMW tech and supporter of the local chapter.  He has the tools, equipment and know how to repair your BMW professionally.  If you use and like him there is no reason to not trust him to take care of your car.

I took the wife's Toyota there once when it was throwing a lot of codes.  They fixed it really quick and price was very reasonable.

There is more to Krause's than just the shop on Mill St.  Across the road to the east (to the left if you're facing the shop) is where they service the German cars (can't remember the name right off hand) and next door to that they have a muffler operation.  I used the muffler shop to install my exhaust a few years back - did a super job (welded everything) for $30 or so.

I did talk to them once about fixing a CEL I was having.  I was impressed with their approach and equipment they told me they had.  Ultimately, I took the car to 911 due to scheduling more than anything else.

Another option might be 5th Gear Motor Sport on FM 407.  They've done some odds and ends for me from time to time.  My mother-in-law gets her Mercedes serviced there.  Never used them for anything really big but they've always seemed knowledgable and reasonably priced.  They don't have the BMW-specific training that the other shops (Krause's, Trent, Nerces, Barry/911) do - but for a tranny flush, they should be fine.

If you're still unsure, you can always go about 20 minutes further down 35 to 911 - I've been very pleased with the work they've done for me.
