| I dont think Im out of line here. These rear shocks have threaded bodies, but are not being run as rear coilovers. They are just prototypes. Its all good guys.

are true coilovers legal in prepared? AsI understand Doug had an eye towards BMW CCA CR..?[/quote]
correct, true rear coilovers are no prepared legal. The bodies can be threaded, doesn't make them illegal.

| Well well. We got a shipment in yesterday. It contained two sets of AST 4300s. 3 way adjustable, hi/low speed compression and rebound. This set shown is for a MX-5 Miata, special request from a customer. We received a set of E36s as well. I had to snap a few of these to get them off to the customer today. E36 pics coming. Pricing starts at $4500. We can do quick release hoses, but it adds to the cost dramatically.

| if the BMW ones also have separate Reservoirs and separte shock bodies, then they will only work in MOD in BMW CCA CR... I sure wish I was autocrossing RIGHT NOW... sigh...

The problem with DA's as we're finding out is limited space = lack of ability to add in all the necessary stuff for adjustments... Just try figuring it out for a MINI - ack! We'll have to have remotes, I think. We're still working with Vorshlag and AST on how to cram a DA into the MINI with the lack of space.FWIW, our MINI testers love their AST's. To date, they've been cross country a couple times, hit Road Atlanta (among other sweet a** tracks) and local venues and performed very well. I'm getting ready to put a SA set on my car (buh-bye Ledas!) with some Swift Springs for testing.
I'd rather be autocrossing...

Ron Bibb (7/14/2007)
Are you going to be carrying any DA's without the remote reservoirs? --Ron Absolutely. Our doubles won't have remote reservoirs. We have several sets due mid August for an extended testing period, mainly to test production, then we'll be ready to go. The prototypes on the M3 have been great. At the June event I was playing with rear compression between each run and each click was making a noticeable difference in traction. I was reading Racecar Engineering last month. It has a picture of a new Penske F1 shock that uses the same technology these doubles use. It isn't new technology actually, in fact, it is similar to the shocks that Piet Kreeft (AST founder) designed for Emerson Fittipaldi's IndyCar which just so happened to be a Penske Team car. Coincidence? If it is now good enough for their F1 shocks, I think we'll take it.

| If you need another test mule, I know a e36 m3 that will need some DA's with very high spring rates. --Ron

| Hey guys, Thought I'd share our new webpage on here. http://ast-usa.com/ This isn't totally done yet. Still some tweaks. Main purpose of the page will be to share what is AST, why they are better, how they work, etc. Basic informational page for AST as we roll it out in North America. Check it out. I think you'll like it!
