| I'm loving this rainy weather. The more days of rain the less days for the temp to be 100+. Isn't that how it works? I just wanted to say how good my 615s are in the rain. Their wet stick is terrific. As long as there is no standing water I can drive wet roads with great confidence. I would have to do something very abrupt to break a pair of tires loose. Stoplights are great fun pulling away from almost anything. Standing water though is where the lack of water evacuation grooves is immediately noticeable. Still, if I can see the texture of the road surface, thru the water on the road, I'm safe from hydroplaning. Some roads can have as much as 3/8 to 1/2" of running water and yet the road texture is discernable and driveable. If the water is standing still the road texture is lost and its impossible to determine the depth before hitting it. I think it was here, but in another post, that someone said the 615s wet grip was poor. I'm finding just the opposite.

| I finished my head gasket last night so I'm driving my M3 today for the first time since I came off the track. It still has my RT-615's on it. I will probably explore their wet traction a bit this week with all the rain we have coming. Of course mine are bald so hydroplaning will be an issue. I drove the 615's precursor Azenis Sport RT-215 at autocross they had good wet grip but they hydroplaned easier than most.

Maybe it's just me, but hydroplaning is a lack of wet grip in my book. All tires will hydroplane, its just a matter of speed. When I speak of wet grip I'm talking about speeds below the hydroplaning threshold. That area is 97% of all wet street driving where wet grip is important. In that area the 615s are terrific.
